The Company
New Amsterdam was founded in 2002 by Jacob Willemsen.
New Amsterdam has an extensive network within: the United Nations, World Bank Group, European trade offices, Embassies & Consulates in New York, and within a variety of industries in the US. We are a solid partner for increasing business success of our clients in these markets. Our clients come from private, public, and not-for profit organizations across many industries. Our multidisciplinary team has a proven track record of successfully providing business advice to organizations that want to grow their business, using our knowledge of the US market and the multilateral development organizations, and our large network of local and international partners.

Jacob WillemsenPresident
The founder of New Amsterdam and has over 15 years of experience with UN procurement and strategic consultancy for the US market, and is co-founder of the annual EU UN-Procurement Seminar, which New Amsterdam coordinates since 2003.
Carmen Munoz
Carmen MunozExpert International Trade & Business Development Coordinator
Carmen has more than 17 years of global experience in international sales and business development for the private and the public sectors. She has lived in Mexico and traveled extensively doing business in Asia and Latin America, and she resides in the US since 2006. Carmen has a degree in Law in Spain and a Master in Management of International Commerce from the University of Valencia, Spain. She also has a Masters in International Relations from the University of St. Thomas in Houston, TX and is certified by the CIPS in Public Procurement.
Maaike Boeve
Maaike BoeveFinancial Account Manager
Maaike holds a MA in Psychology from the Radboud University in Nijmegen. She has 15 years of experience in customer service in varying fields. She worked as a financial advisor at ABN AMRO and as a welfare benefits officer for several Dutch municipalities. Recently Maaike passed the national Certified Bookeeper exam at the American Institute of Professional Bookkeepers. She joined New Amsterdam in December 2014.
Laura Hoogendoorn
Laura HoogendoornAccount Manager
Laura holds an Associate’s degree in Hotel Management from Zadkine Culinary College in Rotterdam. After graduation she moved to Long Island, NY for an internship and has worked in several Customer Service positions. Laura joined TABS in April 2015.
Maria Padilla
Maria PadillaFinancial Administrative Assistant
Maria Padilla studied business administration at Borough of Manhattan Community College. Her professional experience includes work at the Spain US Chamber of Commerce where she performed various administrative duties for executive management. Maria joined New Amsterdam Trade & Consultancy in January 2016.
